Grief and Loss

We all grieve in

different ways.

Examples of possible causes of grief are:

  • someone close dies
  • divorce
  • moving house or town
  • the loss of a job
  • a diagnosis of a chronic
  • health condition
  • you become a carer
  • a significant change occurs

Examples of symptoms that indicate help might be needed are:

  • eating habits change
  • self care and personal hygiene declines
  • increased dependence on alcohol or drugs
  • thoughts of taking own life or self harm
  • mood changes occur such increased aggression and anti-social behaviour

"Grief cannot be judged,

It cannot be compared,

and it cannot forced into 'Getting over'."

by Robyn McInerney

Counselling can help us cope with the changes by discovering our own personal strengths, and exploring our our own understanding of what is happening.

Sometimes we just need someone to here our story.
